Packing lunch to your family can be easy or hard thing to do. That too early in the morning (I call it military hour), while also getting hot breakfast ready for everyone.
We don’t do cereal or cereal bars in my home. Believe me, I tried. But it just didn’t work for us. So that puts me in charge of making both breakfast for family of 4 and pack 3 lunchboxes and 2 boxes in 30-45 mins every weekday.
So, with the morning rush, I try to make them both easy, simple but healthy. I am a big believer of eating nuts, fruits and greens in your everyday diet. Every lunch box must have entree, fruits and nuts (Of course, I check with my kids teacher at the beginning of the year to make sure there are no allergies in their class).
Its simple without much prep on the day and mostly healthy. Look for more ideas through out August!

Snacks – Banana Chips & Grapes, Bonus-Chocolate Egg

Snacks – Carrot pieces & Homemade Chocolate Muffin
Check out Chocolate Muffins here.

Snacks -Carrots & seedless Black Grapes
PS: My kids school provides the condiments like maple syrup, ketchup etc. So, I don’t pack them with the box as it was getting messy.
Good mom! I packed by kids’, and grandkids’, lunches for many years and it was always fun to get a good variety of healthful stuff in their little boxes. They all loved the little bento box style containers with separate compartments. We had a variety that even had a little dressing container for their raw veggies.

I agree – getting healthy into their boxes feels and does good for their little tummies. And my kids prefer homemade than school lunches. I changed quite a variety of boxes over the years too.

We used to pack lunches for work. There was a cafeteria where we could purchase food. It was costly and mostly fried food. We packed our lunches the night before. It helped save time in the morning.

Packed lunches are the best! I am taking a leaf out of it and going to pack the snacks the night before.
